IAA Welcomes New Staff Members

It is an exciting time for the Internet Association of Australia as we grow our membership community both here in Australia and overseas. We are pleased to welcome two new members to our team to help with this, Communications and Events Officer, Abi Smalley and Accounts Officer, Fatima Dauda.

Abi joins IAA in a new role for the Association. As the Communications and Events Officer Abi’s role will be responsible for growing and developing the communication channels, helping deliver IAA and IX Australia related communications to our members, stakeholders and wider community and contributing to our renewed focus on delivering a range of events for our membership, helping educate members and give them the opportunity to network with peers and other industry colleagues.

With more than 18 years’ experience in communication roles, including journalism, marketing and public relations Abi has worked in a variety of industries both here in Australia and previously in UK before emigrating to Perth. She is looking forward to using her skills to help continue to build the profile of IAA and IX Australia and engage with members and engage with the community through industry events.

As the Accounts Officer, Fatima joins our team to assist with ensuring the accuracy of the financial reporting process of IAA, undertaking daily financial activities and providing financial support and assistance to the General Managers, ensuring financial compliance across the association.

Fatima is a proud Nigerian, moving to Australia with her family 6 years ago from the UK after completing her MBA in Project Management. She is a qualified Chartered Accountant affiliated to ACCA UK and CPA Australia.
